In collaboration with CityU, University of Oxford, and Karolinska Institutet, the Hong Kong Centre for Cerebro-cardiovascular Health Engineering (COCHE) was established with the support of the ITC-InnoHK Programme to develop new ways to tackle cardiovascular disease (CVD), which is the world's leading cause of morbidity and mortality. To address the most pressing health challenges caused by CVD, COCHE focuses on developing innovative technologies such as flexible and wearable devices, biomedical and molecular imaging, nano-biosensing, micro-robotics, healthcare AI systems, and other ground-breaking methods to enable early prevention, diagnosis, and intervention of the disease. Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious MRI Radiographer to perform high-quality diagnostic imaging while ensuring patient safety and compliance with clinical protocols. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in MRI operations, including protocol optimization, image post-processing, and equipment maintenance, along with a commitment to patient care and privacy. Registered with the HK Radiographer Board and experienced in 1.5T+ MRI systems, you will join a structured environment with no on-call or weekend duties, supported by ongoing training.
Key Responsibilities:
• Clinical and technical
o Patient reception and safety screening
o Scan Operations:
Independently perform all routine scans, optimize protocols according to clinical needs, real-time monitoring of image quality to ensure diagnostic-grade images and perform image post-processing
o Contingency:
Familiarization and observance of all internal contingency protocols
• Equipment and quality control
o Daily routine inspection and record, perform first-level troubleshooting, observe the internal guideline of cleaning and disinfection of reusable health care equipment
• Clinic Operations
o Maintain good operational order of the MRI control and scanning areas, maintaining patient privacy (HIPAA/PDPO, internal policy guide), patient identification policy, medical records management
o Compliance with the internal guideline of incident management system
General Qualification
Requirements
• BSc in radiography and registered with the HK Radiographer Board;
• Holder of valid annual practicing certificate;
• At least 2 years working experience in MRI independently with 1.5T or above (On job training will be provided);
• Able to work independently;
• Core competencies:
o Strong awareness of patient safety. Familiarity with MRI safety screening procedures (including implants, claustrophobia).
o Ability to independently complete MRI examinations, positioning, parameter optimization, and initial image quality control
• Familiarity with PACS, RIS, or other electronic medical record systems, can handle DICOM transfers, burning, and or cloud backup
Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
Remuneration & Duration of Appointment
The remuneration package will be highly competitive, and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits for full-time appointments include leave and medical insurance, etc. Initial appointments will be made on a fixed-term contract. The possibility of re-appointment after the initial contract period will be based on performance evaluation and mutual agreements.
