About the Research Centre
In collaboration with the CityU, the University of Oxford and the Karolinska Institutet, the Hong Kong Centre for Cerebro-cardiovascular Health Engineering (COCHE) was established with the support of the ITC-InnoHK Programme to develop new ways to tackle cardiovascular disease (CVD), which is the world's leading cause of morbidity and mortality. To address the most pressing health challenges caused by CVD, COCHE focuses on developing innovative technologies such as flexible and wearable devices, biomedical and molecular imaging, nano-biosensing, micro-robotics, healthcare AI systems, and other groundbreaking methods to enable early prevention, diagnosis and intervention of the disease. These technologies can reduce human costs while alleviating the healthcare system's financial and social burdens. The COCHE research centre, located in Hong Kong Science Park, has several openings in research areas and administration.
Job Description
Project Title:
Deep learning models for non-invasive and continuous blood pressure measurement
Job Description:
Non-invasive and continuous measurement of blood pressure can enable an effective 24/7 monitoring of hypertensive patients to timely prevent cardiovascular problems and precisely regulate anti-hypertension cures. By taking advantage of data-driven methods and multi-modal datasets such as PPG and ECG, we aim to develop a novel and practical deep learning model for accurate prediction of continuous blood pressure.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Actively participate in the project. Assist in signal processing and neural network training. Attend regular team meetings to discuss updates and results.
General Qualification
• Proficiency in Python. Deep learning research experience is a plus.
• Undergraduates or postgraduates from any year of students enrolling on one of the full-time STEM programmes
• Legally employable in Hong Kong
