Professor Huang Yu Elected Foreign Member of Academia Europaea for Pioneering Cardiovascular Research

We are proud to announce that Professor Huang Yu, Co-Pl of our Centre and Jeanie Hu Professor of Biomedical Sciences at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK), has been elected as a Foreign Member of Academia Europaea in recognition of his outstanding contributions to vascular biology and cardiovascular research.

A world-renowned expert in vascular endothelial cell dysfunction, Professor Huang’s work has advanced our understanding of hypertension, diabetes, and atherosclerosis. His groundbreaking research has been published in leading journals such as Nature, Science, and Cell Metabolism, with over 37,300 citations to date.
Among his many accolades, Professor Huang was the first Chinese scientist to receive the Peter Harris Distinguished Scientist Award (2024) from the International Society for Heart Research. He has also been honored with the Croucher Senior Research Fellowship and the Hong Kong RGC Senior Research Fellow Award in 2021.
Academia Europaea, founded in 1988, is a prestigious pan-European academy comprising over 4,500 eminent scholars across disciplines. Membership is reserved for researchers who have made sustained academic excellence and global impact.
